Great: Strip firm ( but watch out for the 'steps' where the centreline markers have sunk in !

Very little wind and no rain - great atmosphere - a good time had by all :)

The strip is getting firmer as it dries out, lovely sunny day with a bit of moderate and changeable wind. Well done to whoever decided to mow those parts of the strip that were firm enough to support the mower :)

Today was a great day for flying, BBQ and having a chat with mates

Strip and pits are boggy again but not as bad as expected after all the rain this week. The southern end of the strip near the Helli pad is the best and flyable depending on wheel size and plane type.

There is also new damage from a quad bike down the edge of the strip opposite side to the pits for 50 metres or so and fresh marks from a bike straight out from the pits.

Beautiful flying day, little to no wind or rain.

Strip is mostly dry but grass is long and rough in quite a lot of places.

We have had reports from Roy, the field is:
- From pits to the south, OK to fly from
- From pits to the North, still damp (ok for light plane)
- West side of the strip, straight out from pits, very wet
- Pits are dry

Strip is soggy again.

Fantastic day for flying, strip is a lot firmer than it has been of recent and if we can manage no rain for a week it will be just about perfect.

not much good today, but sunday was perfect. Strip still had some soft areas but was easily flyable. Aside from that it was sunshine and a very slight breeze. I, along with other plane and heli flyers had an awesome day

Well a number of us towed up a one and a half ton diesel roller, rolled the strip and control line area yesterday, then Byron mowed the whole lot. Thanks to all who were there to fly and showed lots of patience whilst we worked on the strip.
The result I think will please everyone as the strip is now very smooth. Special thanks to Wally, Greg, Byron and Brian, and oh yes ...the day was a cracker!

Dennis, I agree it was a great day but heli flyers don't notice the wind. It was gusty and westerly. However we all had fun and no disasters.

*** We're using a diesel roller on Wed this week to try and flatten out the damage to the soggy field done by dirt bikers. Hopefully we will be able to alternate flying with rolling so as not to inconvenience anyone.

Great flying weather today but the field was soft to boggy ! I did a couple of nose overs before we decided the South end of the strip was better and flew up at that end.

I've planted some turf squares (as advised by a greenkeeper friend of the Club ) on the midsection of strip and under the seating area, whilst there's little flying going on due to the rain. You'll notice these areas have also been topsoiled and fertilised. It'll be messy for a while but we're trying to get the grass growing in the dead patches for everyone's benefit. Thanks for your patience.

Had a great flying day! Bit windy from the south, but it was straight down the strip, which made for very quick flybys...and nice controlled landings.

Absolutely fantastic morning!! Freshly mown strip, clear skies, next to no wind and only a handful of flyers. Strip is probably the best I have seen it in 8 years.

Good flying conditions. A number of fixed wing and helis. A bit soggy in some low spots but quite good overall.

Terrific weather for the CCHC Club visit. Slight breeze but still enjoyed by those sho went up. By the reaction of the Car CLub folk and their comments they absolutely enjoyed the day out.

Another 4WD rampage over Northern end of the field- not too much damage thankfully, however about 80% of the field is waterlogged. Hopefully no more rain till after the weekend.

After some early gusty conditions, the wind settled down around 10am enabling a number of models to get airborne. Breeze from the south and south west making for some careful approaches from the northern end. Should be better for Sunday with any luck.

Amazingly with the rain over the past few days, the strip is in great condition. No sitting water, still some softer patches but all over pretty good.

Visited field today for a bit of a look. Was looking great, some dry patches starting to appear due to the sunny and warm conditions over the last few days. But,.......... just as I went to type this it started to rain!! Oh well, hope we get some more dry weather between now and the weekend.

Visited strip today to measure up for hardware for new pilot area with Clyde. Strip quite wet in parts and boggy. Some dry sections but a fair amount of ground water. Observed someone run up entire strip twice before they could actually lift off due to excessive water. Was an experienced flyer to boot!!

Can safely put today into the diary as a building day not a flying day

Visited the strip but too gusty and strip a bit boggy. Evidence of where the thief drove up to the temporary pilots compound and loaded gear located.

The field must have had over a foot of rain because it's just puddles today. Terrible for flying but great for getting the grass cover established and topsoil spread.

Choppy wind. Field looking good but bumpy due to hard ground with tufts of grass and weeds. Hence the topsoil a few of us are spreading between flights - to give the grass something to grow in. Feel free to spread a bit around yourself (bring a shovel and rake next time you fly) to get our field smooth as. Thanks to Byron for mowing and rolling.

Wet and wild. Strip flyable but southerly came in about 10am. Became very gusty and uncomfortable. I have never seen people pack up so quickly before.....:-)

FANTASTIC.
Wind was a lovely very light breeze enabling take offs and landings from either direction. Few early low lying clouds made for a little bit of fun earlier in the morning but they soon dissipated and presented an awesome sky to fly in.
Grass has been freshly mowed and the strip is getting grass growing up through the new area and the graded part infront of the pilots area already.

What a great day for a fly, weather was perfect, grass is already started to get a bit long already with all the rain and sun throughout the week.
Field itself is a bit wet but I don't think it will take long to dry out.

Great flying conditions on Saturday. Only a handful enjoying the conditions including a one of our scaled friends (Byron thinks a Marsh Snake). Good time to warn everyone to keep a look out for snakes. The one mentioned above was seen checking out the planes in the pit area much to Clydes surprise. As it wasn't a member it was asked to leave.

Someone has completely cut the strip up with a 4 wheel drive, you can see where they have entered and exited at the same point (near the tree on the out side near the road)
It had to have been done on Tueday afternoon as Tony and my self where there in the morning until 9.30/10.00am

Turned out to be quite a nice morning

The field and conditions would have to be the best we have seen for eons. Grass beautifully just cut, no wind, about 18C temp and sun shining! Shame I forget my plane.

Great morning and the wind is nice and constant from the north. As I left the wind was dropping off, with bad weather predicted for this arvo, up until then is a great time for a fly.

Sunday made for great flying manage to progress from a trainer to a 1/5 scale hellcat with a 80cc motor, not bad for 1 week a G Man.

Great flying day Saturday. Strip faily wet after the nights rain. Hand launch essential but great thermals and not too much wind. Wind increasing during the day.

Good flying in between showers. Clearing in the late morning early afternood. Ground still wet underfoot but drying. Clive advises that he will have the roller at the strip on friday provided the strip continues to dry.

Visited the strip today. Rain over last 24hrs has added to the already soggy conditions. Large pools of water in pits and on strip. Great for the float fliers or maybe we start a model yacht club..............

Saturday. No one at the strip. Badly cut up by Trail Bikes. Very wet.
Grass long. Not flyable for small models.

Checked the strip out today. Absolutely saturated and has been severely damaged by a motorcycle. This occurred on Sunday 17/2. President aware of damage. A lot of work will be required to fill up the many rivets now covering the entire strip.

With the recent rain even the ducks were having difficulty landing!! After the meeting Bob B had an old timer up flying but his take offs and landings were more suited to amphibians!!

What a great day for flying, I was expecting to rock up and find no car parks until half way down the hill considering the weather we've been having, but no. Only a few of us up there enjoying the field at it's best.

Bloody beautiful, couple soft spots still so be careful with bigger aircraft, but apart from that, nice a short grass, great weather.

Brilliant weather this morning, the skies were a little bumpy but barely noticeable. The grass is getting to be a little longer so be careful if you have wheel spats or tail draggers that tip over easily

Today the weather started out looking a little rough but it fined up nicely for some great flying heading up to lunchtime.

Today turned out to be very nice weather, it started off a little overcast, but by the time I organised myself, the sun was out in force. The breeze was light, for the morning, however the grass is long. and it appears we have clumps of clover to contend with also.

Byron tells me, that someone tells him that its sunny at the field today but theres a heck of a wind up there. Been a while since its been mowed so its safe to assume the grass is at a medium length by now too.
