On September 17, 2011 the Club held its first organized foamy pylon competition. The weather was ideal with mild conditions and a gentle breeze. The great conditions saw a total of 11 pilots step forward to compete. The format would be 3 rounds to be flown with a max. of 4 flyers in each heat. Flyers could drop their worst heat. Gcac has begun clearing a section of the "old strip" after getting the go ahead from State Forests. This will increase landing areas greatly, and since there are now a lot more larger aircraft flying from our field, should see for some more gradual appraoches instead of having to drop them in over the thicket. The indoor flying event held on 11 August, was yet another success from Gosford City Aeromodellers.
